Morrone

Its summit may be spoilt by a communications mast and track, but Morrone still rises proudly above Braemar and is a popular ascent. Its lower slopes are clothed with the important habitat of Morrone Birkwood.

Morrone is almost invariably done as a short day using the route above. One possibility for a much longer walk is to continue along the ridge, passing over Càrn na Drochaide (830m) and Sgòr Mòr (887m), possibly en route for the Munro An Socach.
