Download GPX route file : Linn of Quoich - The Punchbowl

Before downloading a GPX route file from Walkhighlands, please confirm that:

  1. You understand the need to also carry an alternative or backup means of navigation - your GPS device or phone could fail. Good map reading and navigation skills are essential for safety on any hillwalk or walk in wilder terrain - see this article for more information on the use of GPS devices or smartphones as navigation aids. Our safety section has a great deal of information on staying safe in the hills.

  2. Whilst we take every care to ensure the GPX files are accurate, you acknowledge that walks are undertaken entirely at your own risk and Walkhighlands can accept no responsibility or liability, nor gives any warranty, as to the accuracy of any of the information on the site, including these files.

  3. You acknowledge that Walkhighlands is the owner of the GPX file data and it is made available to download only for your own personal use. It must not be made available to download from other websites.

  4. GPX data contains the route line overlay only - GPX files cannot contain actual mapping.

YOU NO LONGER NEED TO DOWNLOAD GPX FILES

If you install the Walkhighlands App, you can download our full detailed descriptions, route lines and GPS mapping FREE, with no subscriptions and no need to handle GPX files.

How to use

  1. To use on your smartphone, you must first have a suitable navigation app installed that can store offline topo mapping - such as OSMaps, Outdoor Active, Anquet OMN, Memory Map, or Topo GPS. Walkhighlands files work with all outdoors GPS apps.
  2. The link above will download the file to your phone's downloads folder. You may be able to then open it in your installed navigation app by simply clicking the file. If you get a 'Cannot Open File' message, then after downloading you need to open your phone's File Manager app (may be called 'Files' or 'My Files'), go to the Downloads folder and open it from there.
  3. If you are still having difficulties, contact the support for the navigation app you are using. We haven't used all these apps ourselves and cannot offer support on them.
  4. To use the GPX file on a dedicated GPS device, you will need to download to a computer first, and then copy it to your GPS device. See your GPS manufacturers instructions for how to do this on their device.

Walking can be dangerous and all walkers must take personal responsibility for their own safety. You should always carry a backup means of navigation and not rely on a single phone, app or map. Walkhighlands strives to provide accurate information but cannot accept responsibility for changes, errors or omissions.
