Sgùrr nan Eugallt is a very fine mountain - a superb viewpoint on the edge of Knoydart. The short distance and the use of a stalkers path for the initial ascent makes for an easier day than its neighbours in this very rugged area.

The walk begins up a stalkers' path that branches off the Kinlochhuorn road just beyond the ruin at Coireshubh, just north of the Drochaid (bridge) Coire Shubh. There is parking for several cars both a short distance further along the road where the right of way to Glenshiel goes off, and also a short distance back along the road. Initially the path climbs in a series of grassy zig-zags, with views back over Loch Coire Shubh.
The path then leads up a long, narrow sloping gully, before climbing high up towards Sgùrr Dubh. The path is quite clear to follow and well-graded, but tends to be wet underfoot in places. Eventually it turns SSW and begins a rising traverse across the east side of Sgùrr Dubh.
After traversing around 500m across the slope the path begins to climb more directly towards the ridge in a series of fainter zig-zags, before fading out. The ridge is then gained to the south of Sgùrr Dubh, and is accompanied by a line of fenceposts. Head along the ridge towards Sgùrr nan Eugallt.
After a couple of slight dips the climb towards the peak begins in earnest, steepening and narrowing higher up though without any major obstacles. The views are, by this point, superb; the photo shows the view down towards the head of Loch Huorn.
Above the steep section the NE ridge you've ascended meets the main ridge of the mountain; a cylindrical trig point sits on a small peak just beyond. This isn't the true summit of Sgùrr nan Eugallt, however, which lies further along the ridge.
Follow the broad, rocky ridge NW for around 500m to reach the highest point, marked by a tiny cairn (the larger cairn on Sgùrr Sgiath Airigh a short distance further is clearly lower). From the summit, there is a stunning view down Loch Huorn, to Ladhar Bheinn and the Cuillin of Skye.
The northern slopes down to Loch Huorn are very steep and rough; it is best to retrace your steps back to the trig point.
From here it is possible to continue along the main ridge of the mountain to Sgùrr a' Chlaidheimh before descending the northern slopes - but there is no path and the descent is steep and rugged with awkward terrain. Although it means a short day, probably the best option is to instead descend using the route of ascent, making use of the stalkers' path once more.
