Càrn a' Mhàim

Càrn a' Mhàim guards Lairig Ghru on the approach from Braemar. It is joined to mighty Ben Macdui by perhaps the narrowest section of ridge in the Cairngorms - an enjoyable traverse with a steep ascent to gain Macdui at the end.

The ascent is rarely made by any other routes. It is possible to reach the northern end of the arete by climbing up the slopes near the Allt Clach nan Taillear from the Lairig Ghru.
