Càrn Dearg is a remote peak between Rannoch Moor and the Ben Alder range, above Loch Ossian. It can be climbed either from either Corrour or Rannoch stations on the West Highland line.

The two Munros can also be climbed from the B846 near Rannoch Station, starting over Beinn Pharlagain but then continuing round the horseshoe of ridges.
