Meall Garbh (Ben Lawers)

Meall Garbh is one of the Ben Lawers range, and for many years had the same height on OS maps as neighbouring An Stùc, though more recent surveys have shown it to be much higher. It is part of the fine round of the corrie containing Lochan nan Cat.

The route given can easily by extended to take in Ben Lawers, descending initially down its eastern ridge. Another possibility is to traverse from the Ben Lawers car park over Beinn Ghlas, continuing via Ant Stùc to Meall Garbh and finally Meall Greigh before descending to the Lawers hotel.

The biggest bagging route hereabouts is a circuit of the 7 Lawers Munros as part of a horseshoe round the Allt a' Chobhair from Camusvrachan in Glen Lyon.
