Sgurr na Sgine

Hear pronunciation Press to hear pronunciation

Sgurr na Sgine may not rival the grandeur of its neighbour The Saddle, but it is a fine peak nonetheless and its top Faochag (the whelk) looks improbably steep and cone-like from higher up Glen Shiel.

Detailed route description and map

The Saddle via the Forcan Ridge, and Sgurr na Sgine

Other routes and challenges

The above route can be used to ascend Sgurr na Sgine only, following the route that avoids the Forcan Ridge by following the dyke to the Bealach Coire Mhalagain before heading up to Sgurr na Sgine. The descent can be made via Faochag.

Ascending from the Bealach an Toiteil - allowing a link with Sgurr a' Bhac Chaolais - involves extremely steep ground and is not recommended.
