A twin to neighbouring Stob a' Choire Mheadhoin, Stob Coire Easain shows a steep face to the northeast. This lengthy ridge lies between the deep trench of Loch Treig - traversed by the West Highland railway line - and the Lairig Leacach pass.

Other possibilities include an approach from the Lairig Leacach, or from the head of Loch Treig - perhaps as long traverse, heading up the south ridge on a route between Corrour and Tulloch stations.
