10,000th member joins Walkhighlands

Despite the promising weather luring many people out onto the hills, this Easter Monday saw the 10,000th member sign up to the Walkhighlands forum.

Only a couple of years ago the site, which is now Scotland’s busiest outdoors website, was celebrating its 1000th member. Forum members have been trying to predict the date and time of the 10k member with Walkhighlands offering a bottle of single malt whisky to the nearest guess.

Many guesses later, and a few cheeky requests for Southern Comfort or other favoured tipples, the nearest guess – at just 23 minutes out – was neilmci who guessed 9.30am. Neil wins the bottle of single malt. A big Walkhighlands welcome to Scottie32 who joined today, Monday 25th April at 9.07am

Walkhighlands forum members can log their Munros (and other hills), write trip reports with photos and maps, keep a private or public walks diary, chat with other members, and view free 1:25,000 OS maps for all of Walkhighlands’ 1350 Scottish walking routes. Registration is free and you can sign up to Walkhighlands here.
