Walkhighlands expands into Galloway

We’ve now launched our coverage of Galloway, with 70 walks taking in the coast, hills, towns and villages of Galloway.

Our coverage extends from the Mull of Galloway – the southernmost point of Scotland – all the way along the beautiful Solway Firth coastline to Annan near the border with England. Inland, we’ve routes in the rugged hills including The Merrick and all the other Corbetts in the area, as well as walks around the areas towns and villages, lochs, forests and wildlife reservers. Further routes will follow, particularly in the eastern parts around Thornhill and Moffat. As usual, each route includes a detailed description, free Ordnance Survey mapping including the detailed 1:25 000 scale, Google Earth fly-throughs and the chance to write up your own reports and experiences.

You should always carry a backup means of navigation and not rely on a single phone, app or map. Walking can be dangerous and is done entirely at your own risk. Information is provided free of charge; it is every walker's responsibility to check it and to navigate safely.
