Stuart Murdoch, of Speyside Sculpture, is a talented sculptor working in wood and stone who brings to life his love of nature and the great outdoors in his individual artworks. Stuart is a keen walker and has teamed up with Walkhighlands to offer other walkers the chance to win a bespoke piece of sculpture.
Stuart is offering the chance to win a personalised letter carving worth between £350 and £500, or a voucher towards a larger piece of sculpture. There are also second and third prizes up for grabs.
Stuart says, “I was recently asked to carve a large house name sign in elm. Part of the request was that I carve two mountains, which can be clearly seen from the property, onto the sign. All you have to do is correctly name the two mountains that appear at the top of the sign.
“It’s mostly for fun but there’s also a chance to win some prizes. Towards the end of September a draw will be made of the correct answers. The winner(s) will be announced in the following Walkhighlands newsletter.”
Visit the Speyside Sculpture website to enter. Stuart’s sculptures range from large outdoor pieces featuring leaping salmon, mountain hares, or more abstract themes, to intricate letter carving and intimate indoor artworks which are both decorative and functional.
