Angus Glens Festival Programme Announced

The walk programme for the Angus Glens Walking Festival is now available online. This year the Festival is celebrating its 10th year with an exciting mix of walks, from gentle countryside strolls to strenuous mountain hikes. The programme features 28 varied walks led by experienced mountain leaders over four days from Thursday 31 May.

New walks for the Festival for 2012 include: Eagle Watching in Glen Clova, a chance to see Golden Eagles close to their natural nesting site, deep in the Angus Glens and; Stonyford, Glen Lethnot to Tarfside & Invermark, a moderate walk that passes between two glens, with stunning views of the Rowan Tower monument. There will also be an all abilities walk on each day of the festival. These walks are on level, well maintained paths and are suitable for everyone, including wheelchair users.

A spokesperson for the Festival said, “The Angus Glens Walking Festival isn’t just about the walking. Meet friends old and new at the popular evening events which this year includes an interesting talk about the wildlife of the Galapagos Islands by one of Angus’ own Countryside Rangers, Graham Christer, a Taste of Angus evening and the ever popular Saturday night Ceilidh.”
