This straightforward circuit takes in the beautiful and peaceful middle reaches of Glen Lednock's farmland where you may well see Red Kites. The return by the road is usually fairly quiet.
Paths and country lanes, one ford to cross on stones which could be difficult in spate.

The Shaky Bridge (Stage 1) is closed for repairs, so the walk cannot currently be completed. It is expected to reopen in mid September 2024.

The walk starts where a footpath sign points down to the right for Funtulich soon after the minor road up Glen Lednock leaves the trees. At this bend there is verge parking for a couple of cars, take care not to block any gates. If there is no space try the Deil's Cauldron car park just a short way back along the road towards Comrie. Start by following the path down to the footbridge and crossing it. On the far side turn right and follow the River Lednock downstream for a short distance. After a gate climb the steps and turn left onto the fainter path at the top.
This soon curves round to reach a minor road. Turn left and follow the road past a couple of cottages and, now on a track the route climbs gently towards the mountain backdrop. Watch out for a marked grassy path on the left just before a wide bend in the track. Take this to head gently downhill.
At the bottom cross a small stream and got through a basic gate in the stone wall to soon reach the ford. Stones should allow you to get across with dry feet but this could be difficult after very wet weather. On the far side follow the grassy track heading up the Glen, passing through a gate and alongside a thinly wooded area before another gate into a field. Keep on the clear track alongside the stone wall until another gate brings you onto the Glen Lednock road at a Funtulich.
Turn left to head down the road which has lovely views across the glen. This area has recently become popular with Red Kites which were re-introduced in 1996 and are now believed to number about twenty breeding pairs. Soon the winding road returns to the start. A quick detour to view the Deil's Cauldron on the River Lednock is recommended, or you can join this route with the Deil's Cauldron walk to make a longer outing.
