This delightful walk follows a farm track from Dalelia, passing a memorial as it leads near the shores of Loch Shiel to the pier overlooking Eilean Fhianian - an old island burial ground in Loch Shiel.

There is parking on the right just before the pier is reached by Dalelia. Begin the walk by passing the building next to the jetty and heading along the track through the gate.
The track has lovely views out over Loch Shiel from an open stretch initially, and soon passes through some attractive Scots pine woodland.
Off to the right is a memorial cross enclosed by a fence. This is a monument to Philip GJF Howard who died in the First World War; the cross was erected by his father in 1919. Continue along the track.
The track eventually leads to a house at Cuil; before reaching this, turn right through a gate into pastureland - often frequented by cattle. A fainter track - boggy and indistinct in one or two places - leads through the pastures.
The track leads to a jetty overlooking Eilean Fhianain - an island which has been used as burial ground for the Lairds of Clan Ranald over the centuries. The island was also the site of a chapel dedicated to St Finan. Without a boat it isn't possible to visit the island, so retrace your steps back to the start.
