This simple stroll from Arisaig follows farm tracks through the green and fertile woods and farmland south of the village, returning via the coast road.

There is parking along the seafront in Arisaig; the walk begins from here, opposite the toilets, cafe and shop. There is a monument to the Czech and Slovak soldiers who trained as Special Operations Executive agents here, before undertaking missions during the Second World War. Today the village is a population destination and there are usually many visiting yachts out in the bay.
Walk east beside the road, with the sea on your right. After passing the Land, Sea and Islands Visitor Centre, turn right onto the minor road signed for Rhu. Continue along this road until it crosses a bridge over 'The Canal' - flowing through a channel cut to float cut timber out from the woods. Shortly after this turn left onto a track heading east through oakwoods towards Mains Farm. Eventually this curves right and heads through a gate to pass through the farmyard and out the far side.
Loch nan Eala is visible over to the left, whilst the track runs alongside the oakwoods on the right. Eventually it bends right towards Pheasantry Cottage; turn left at the track junction here. Shortly afterwards a cross-tracks is reached - now turn right.
Eventually the track emerges on the minor Rhu road once more, with good views through the trees and out over the bay beyond. Turn right to follow the road back to Arisaig.
