Friends of Nevis have the following events planned for this summer.
A Path Maintenance weekend on Friday 26 and Saturday 27th July. We hope (weather permitting) to work both higher up on Ben Nevis up by the zig-zags and then on the Mamore Grazing path along by the Lower Falls in the Glen. For the higher work you’ll need a good level of hill walking fitness but the for the work lower down you just need to be reasonably fit as the path is relatively level. With notice we can assist those travelling with accommodation. Please note that booking for this closes on the 23rd July so we can organise staff and tools.
On the 27th July there is a Counting Red Squirrels wildlife workshop where you can find out about this threatened but lovely animal and learn about how monitoring and counting techniques work. This event is suitable from children from the age of 5 up.
On the evening of 9th of August we have a Moth Night and on the 10th the Morning After! Moth traps will be set, stay till late to find out what arrives (all moths release unharmed) and return the morning after to see what has been caught.
All events are FREE but booking and registration are essential. To book either go to our website www.friendsofnevis.co.uk or email info@friendsofnevis.co.uk or call 07770 648330.
