Highlander to sponsor prizes for best Walkhighlands reports

We’re delighted that Scotland-based outdoors gear company Highlander have signed up as the new prize sponsors for the Walkhighlands’ walk report of the month competition. The long-running competition has been online for twelve years, taking a break only during the pandemic lockdown.

Scottish brand Highlander was founded in the 1980s, when exploring the outdoors was seen as an expensive pursuit. Highlander thought otherwise – that enjoying the challenges and beauty of the outdoors should be available to everyone. Over the years, this ethos has been Highlander’s North Star as it continually strives to create clothing and equipment that helps everyone to explore their world, their way. 35 years later, this ever-growing passion, and Highlander commitment to producing gear that helps people look good, feel good, and stay safe, has helped Highlander become the brand that it is today.

Digital Marketing Manager Dom Geraci said “Here at Highlander, we are incredibly excited and honoured to support the Walkhighlands community. As a team of outdoor enthusiasts, it’s our go-to place to source vital information about Scottish routes as well as reading all these exciting reports on the forum. Looking forward to more in 2023!”

Every month Walkhighlands will have £150 worth of Highlander vouchers to give away to the users who submit the best reports from their walks. Your reports can be about walks or outdoor adventures anywhere in the world.

Get out with your camera and get writing stories from your adventures in our countryside. The lucky winner will receive £100 in vouchers to spend at Highlander on gear of your choice, with £50 each month for the runner-up. Entries will be judged on both the quality of photographs and the written account itself. If you haven’t yet joined Walkhighlands, it’s free so why not do so now.

There are links to the relevant walk reports from the Walkhighlands route descriptions, whilst reports on hillwalks are also linked in from our database of hills. You can also read and comment on the latest reports here. Walk reports you submit build up to become own your personal walks blog recording all your experiences.

Remember – your walk report could be anywhere in the UK and it doesn’t have to be a hillwalk – or even a route described on Walkhighlands – to win. Do take care when heading out and plan carefully.
