Uyea circuit from Sandvoe, Northmavine

This superb circular walk follows the northern coast of Mainland Shetland to view the remote tidal island of Uyea and its surrounding stacks and skerries. The return is on an inland track passing lochans where you may spot rare birds.

Pathless coastal walking, boggy in a few places and with grazing animals (dogs on tight control) and two fences without stiles to cross.

Public Transport

North Roe has a daily feeder bus service from Brae.

Parking by the cemetery at Sandvoe. Open start point in Google Maps for directions.
