This superb and very varied walk explores Raasay's heritage of ironstone mining. Peaceful Raasay may seem an unlikely spot for a walk visiting industrial mining heritage and a track called the 'Burma Road', but it was once the scene of bustling activity. A railway climbed a steep include from East Suisnish pier and then over the hills to the mine, which closed early in the twentieth century.
Clear paths, tracks and minor roads.
Ferry to Raasay from Sconser on Skye; Sconser is served by bus.
Churchton Bay ferry terminal, Raasay.
