A level circular walk mainly through forestry with some open sections and views over the water in places. Whilst not one of Mull's more interesting walks, it could serve as a good leg stretcher before or after the ferry to Lochaline.

Start from the Fishnish viewpoint car park - to reach it turn off the main Salen to Craignure road (A849) onto the road to the Fishnish ferry to Lochaline (A884) and then look out for the viewpoint car park turning on the right left; take this track then left under a height barrier to reach the start. There is a totem pole of Mull wildlife here, and a well-situated otter hide looking out over the water. To begin the walk head back along the track under the height barrier, then turn left, signed for Garmony Point.
The trees are quite dense but there are glimpses over the Sound of Mull where the larger ferry serving Coll and Tiree can often be seen. The rugged hills of Morven and the forests at Fiunary can be seen across the water. At one point there is a seat off to the left. Keep ahead, continuing on the track as the red route leading to Garmony Point goes off to the left. The track climbs slightly uphill, keep on it as it bends right and don't take the fainter track straight ahead. Head back through the forest, passing along the right edge of an old works area and then keeping left to reach the road beyond.
Cross the road and take the track opposite into a small parking area. Follow the track out the back of this, soon passing through a gate. There are more open views to the left towards Mull's hills. At a bend the remains of a house can be seen on the right. Originally there were four villages in this forestry area which would have mainly been croftland. At a junction turn right to head towards the sea.
A clear area allows a view to the water and then continue past Fishnish Point and eventually through a gate to pass a turning area. Follow the track down towards the ferry road. Just before the modern ferry slipway, the old harbour and slip can be glimpsed. This was used to load cattle which were shipped across the Sound of Mull to join large cattle droves in Ardnamurchan from where the cattle would be walked to market in Falkirk. At the road there is a chance to watch the ferry and grab a snack at the cafe by following the road to the left. Otherwise take a little dog leg to the left and cross the road to pick up a path just off the road and turn right along it. This quickly leads to the track leading back to the Fishnish viewpoint car park.
